Wonderful Holland

A Summer Vacation Like No Other!

Once again, Jewish Heritage Tours, the U.S. leader in Glatt Kosher tours to Western Europe and Africa, has come up with a very original and reasonable vacation/tour package at a gorgeous hotel in Holland, about one hour from Amsterdam. In addition to staying eight very comfortable and enjoyable nights at this luxurious hotel, every guest can join the group for five fascinating day tours carefully planned by Jewish Heritage Tours.

Golden Tulip Hotel

Golden Tulip Hotel

The hotel, Golden Tulip of Wipselberg in Beekbergen, near the Appledorn, is beautifully located on a 12 acre property, surrounded by woodlands and moorlands – the ideal environment for a restful summer vacation of peace and tranquility. It offers 90 tastefully decorated rooms, grouped into 45 chalets, detached from the country house and spread all over the estate. The rooms are comfortably furnished and some have gardens with view of greenery and woods. Modern communication facilities like wireless Internet are readily available. The hotel's indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna, Turkish steam bath and solarium are open from 07:00 to 23:00 for a refreshing dip or a relaxing moment. And, of course, many separate hours will also be available.

The Veluwe region lends itself to a lovely bike ride (Holland is famous for its biking paths) or long walks. The finest Glatt Kosher Dutch cuisine will be offered three times daily, offering culinary delights you have yet to experience. Of course, only Pas and Chalav Yisrael under the strict supervision of Rav Binyamin Jacobs, Head Rabbi of the inter- provincial Chief Rabbinate.Your host will be Mr. Chaim Freifeld of Antwerp and a leading and acclaimed Talmid Chacham and scholar, Ha’Rav Dr. Nosson Dovid Rabinowich, will serve as Rav and as guide to sites of Jewish interest. A Jewish Heritage Tour Shabbos (Tu b’Av) at this hotel is an unforgettable spiritual and culinary delight . The two ”free” days of your vacation (Wednesday, Aug. 13 and Tuesday, Aug. 19) can be spent in various ways:

  1. Biking: The Netherlands is one of the world’s most bicycle-friendly countries. Bicycling is part of the Dutch culture and you can pedal to anywhere in the country along any number of safe, well-maintained bicycle lanes. The country, its towns and villages are literally laced with over 17,000 km of bicycle paths. You can bike to the nearby village of Hoenderloo, surrounded by expansive forests and heaths. Chances are, you will meet free-roaming moorland sheep and cattle in the Deelerwoud forest. The National Park Hoge Veluwe with its Kröller-Müller Museum, hunting lodge Jachthuis Sint Hubertus and the underground museum, Museonder, are all within cycling distance. The area around the village of Loenen is also characterised by a wealth of natural beauty. Have a look at the Loenen Water Falls. With two waterfall springs, each measuring approx. six kilometres it is the largest of its type in the Netherlands! In the ‘Imbos’ you’ll find Scottish Highland cattle grazing while the Loenermark is the territory of the Loenen sheep.

  2. Visiting Local Attractions: Just north of Beekbergen, you can visit the Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn, the former summer residence of the Royal Family. It is now a busy museum and its beautiful gardens, open during the summer months, are an attraction in their own right. The Apenheul also spreads Apeldoorn’s name beyond the national borders. Apenheul is the only zoo in the world where 30 different species of monkeys roam free in the forest. And it certainly pays to visit a third attraction, the family fun park: Koningin Juliana Toren, the third big attraction of Apeldoorn, which offers much fun for everyone, from the young to the very old! If you really have the energy, visit The Efteling, Benelux's largest and most popular theme park and one of the oldest theme parks in the world.

  3. Walking through the hotel’s village of Beekbergen, located just south of Apeldoorn in addition to long walks through woodland and along springs. In former times there were many paper mills in the village; a fine reminder is the restored Ruitersmolen along the Beekbergse Beek (stream). Today, Beekbergen is a typical holiday village. In July and August the traditional Oud Veluwse Avondmarkten (Old Veluwe Evening Markets) are held on and around the cosy Dorpsstraat. Beekbergen railway station also serves as a stop on the Apeldoorn-Dieren route of the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij.
