A Summer Vacation Like No Other!

Once again, Jewish Heritage Tours, the U.S. leader in Glatt Kosher tours of Western Europe and South Africa, will be sponsoring two exciting and unforgettable Jewish Heritage tours this spring and summer.

This year, we have chosen the pleasant climate and rich Jewish heritage of enchanting Italy! Especially interesting about this unique excursion is that we leave on a Sunday evening, returning the following Tuesday afternoon, giving us eight days to discover a nice portion of this absolutely magnificent country!

The rich Jewish heritage in Italy will be explored and studied throughout the trip. Once again, a leading and acclaimed Talmid Chacham and scholar, Ha’Rav Dr. Nosson Dovid Rabinowich, a professor of Medieval Jewish history, noted author and lecturer, will accompany the tour as Rav and Senior Lecturer.

Italy has been home to many great Rabbis and Kabbalists, including the Aruch, Tosafos Rid, Shibbolei Haleket, Sforno, Abravanel, Yosef Colon, Menachem Azariah of Fano, Yehudah Leib de Modena and Ramchal, to name just a few of the more famous ones. Their lives, works and contributions to society will be discussed in depth. In addition, the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe — based on its existing tombstones — will be visited in Lido,Venice. The tour will also visit the gravesite of the leading Posek (Halachic authority) of his generation, the holy saint, the  Maharam Padua (Rabbi Meir Katzenellenbogen, D.1565).

Expert local guides will help us to appreciate the secular side of Italy: its classical origins, marvelous art and glorious museums, magnificent architecture, rich musical and literary traditions, gorgeous lakes and mountains, and of course, its superb kosher food and wine.

A recent Jewish Heritage Tour of Italy took place this past August with 47 participants! They will be more than happy to serve as references, Dr. Rabinowich noted in a recent conversation.

As with all Jewish Heritage Tours, delicious gourmet Glatt Kosher meals will be eaten daily at very pleasant and quality local restaurants. All hotels are or four-star deluxe, land travel includes ultra-modern air-conditioned buses. Air travel will be handled by the safe and reliable Continental Airways and Air France. All entrance fees are included in the price.
