Namibia is truly a unique destination — an all-in-one safari. It has breathtaking scenery, is home to one of the best National parks/jungles in the world called Etosha and has spectacular photography opportunities. Imagine seeing both its gorgeous coastline and awesome desert with its massive sand dunes – the highest in the world – in one day! Visit the oldest canyon in the world, and second only to the Grand Canyon in size. South Africa, too, has magnificent parks but not the solitude, raw and untouched beauty that Namibia possesses. There are also experiences like “The Desert Elephants Safari,” which is unique to Namibia.
During the first weekend, Rabbi Dr. Rabinowich will lecture about the Jewish heritage of South Africa in conjunction with your visit on Friday to some important historical landmarks. That first Shabbat will offer you an intimate look at Jewish life in Johannesburg from many different perspectives. The excellent cuisine — three delicious daily meals — will totally overwhelm you!
During that first Shabbat, we will also visit Glenhazel, the home of the largest Shomer Shabbat community in South Africa. Our group will be hosted Friday night by the Kollel and meet with members of this wonderful kehilla.
There is also the option of extending your stay and spending three glorious days in one of the most beautiful areas of South Africa, Capetown, which is, incidentally, where Jews first settled in South Africa.
As with all Jewish Heritage tours, three delicious Glatt Kosher meals, prepared by our traveling chefs, will be served daily. All hotels are of very high standard, land travel includes modern air-conditioned buses and all air travel will be handled by the excellent and reliable South African Airways.
Why take the family to Florida, Mexico or Puerto Rico? In South Africa, they can have the same warm climate, a great place to relax with lots of fun, plus a learning experience they will never forget for the rest of their lives! In fact, special discounts are available for families (4 pax) and schools that will be sending at least three students and a set of parents on this fascinating Jewish Heritage Tour and Safari.
In addition to the couples and families these tours always attract, singles have also shown keen interest in this tour. The warm, friendly, and yet unique and stimulating atmosphere of the tour is the ideal setting for intelligent and fun-loving singles to meet.
Space on the tour is, unfortunately, very limited and reservations should be made promptly! Please call 1-888-253-9167 (toll-free) or e-mail jewisheritagetours@hotmail.com for more information, itinerary and reservations.
We also sponsor wonderful tours of Israel throughout the year. Why not combine a Jewish Heritage Tour in Europe with a Discovery Tour of Israel?
